happy to show you his treasures, whale bones, and other beach-combing artifacts.
His campground is rustic; no electricity or running water, but the nights
are dark and star filled at Campo Amigo. Andre is an excellent fishing guide
and has a panga available for rent. CAMP GECKO,
We provide a range of rustic accommodations that are affordable and unique.
Our palapas provide improved camping with some special amenities like hot
showers and flush toilets. We have different accommodations to fulfill a range
of comfort levels and needs, from simple camping sites to palapas with running

CASA DIAZ, In town,
right side, past the brick wall. Basic rooms near the water, inexpensive.
The oldest in town. In fact, Papa Diaz founded the village. Papa is now gone
and the "resort" is managed by his sons. There are motel rooms, a small market,
and small cabins for rent. The cabins are right on the beach and quaint. Diaz
place is the last in town as one drives south down the main drag. It is made
of beautiful flat stones and has a chapel near the restaurant.
"Larry and Raquels,"
MOTEL which is located about 3 km north of town on the beach, Daggetts campground
is just south of "Larry and Raquels." To make reservations and information
for "Larry and Raquels" they can be reached through email, BahiaTours@yahoo.com
LAS HAMACAS MOTEL,
Small motel and restaurant, inexpensive rooms. One of the newest in town.
It is comparatively small, with a handful of new rooms (three years or so
old). It is located on the right side of the road as one enters the town,
50 yards or so before Villa Vitta.
VILLA
VITTA HOTEL, In town, right side of the road. Nice rooms
/ pool / restaurant / bar / a short walk to the Sea of Cortez. The most pretentious
of the group. It is located in the center of town, has its own launching ramp
(no doubt the nicest of all available), a swimming pool, restaurant, and bar.
Everything about Villa Vitta is pricey. A very expensive Motel 6!!
There is a brand new,
very nice looking motel
just north of Villa Vitta. Designed to look like a Mexican "Casa", it appears
to be the nicest in town. It has only recently opened, and I can't remember
its name, but
GUILLERMO'S RESTAURANT, The
only restaurant located on the left (east) side of the road as you enter town.
It's also the only place to get a bite to eat in town, where you can wiggle
your toes in the sand and watch the waves of the Sea of Cortez lap onto the
sand! It's not 5 star quality, but it's the best ocean front dining you're
gonna find in Bay of L.A.!
LA PALAPA RESTAURANT, Located
on the west side of the street, half way through town. A small Mexican restaurant
with a basic menu. Inexpensive prices!
"Larry and Raquels," RESTAURANT
& MOTEL which is located about 3 km north of town on the beach, Daggetts campground

CAMP GECKO,
We provide a range of rustic accommodations that are affordable and unique.
Our palapas provide improved camping with some special amenities like hot
showers and flush toilets. We have different accommodations to fulfill a range
of comfort levels and needs, from simple camping sites to palapas with running
hot water and kitchens. The camp itself has no electricity other than a generator
that we use to make purified water, ice and run a compressor to refill SCUBA
gear.
No Air and no guides. If
I was to be asked, I'd recommend that folks who wanted to dive offshore first,
be very experience divers (the tides and tidal
currents, as I'm sure you know, can be vicious)and
second, bring ALL of their own equipment.
