Oct. 1: Club Compañeros de Baja Norte Meeting

Oct. 3-5: San Diego-Ensenada Regatta

Oct. 4: Oktoberfest Ensenada
Noon-6pm: A traditional celebration with German food, music, games, crafts and raffles at Quintas Papagayo Resort, 1.5 miles north of Ensenada at Km. 108. Tickets ($15dlls.) include 1 drink and full authentic German meal (two Oktoberfest sausages with condiments, sauerkraut, German rye, potato salad, dessert). Entertainment includes Rainer Schnitter on the accordion and the Pro-Musica Choir performing a selection of German folk songs and classical music. Proceeds benefit C.A.M.E. Women's Center. Oct. 5: 3rd International Jazz Festival
Noon-7pm: Performers from Baja and Southern California include Ensenada Jazz, Extrazz Jazz, Lupillo Barajas & the Esteban Fabela Quintet, Fashe Vocal, and Gilbert Castellanos & the Romy Kaye Quartet. Noon: A celebration of Ensenada's Spanish heritage with live entertainment, flamenco dancers and traditional foods in the gardens of Riviera Cultural Center, Blvd. Costero, Ensenada. Oct. 25: 2nd Annual Fiesta del Tequila
Spend a day in Ensenada discovering the culture and libations of Mexico. Activities include a Tamales Brunch with shopping, Day of the Dead art exhibit and mariachi concert at Centro Artesanal; a lecture on pulque (the fermented juice of the maguey plant) with a sampling of pulques, tequilas and appetizers at the Riviera Convention Center; and gourmet dinner prepared with the delicate flavors of tequila at Restaurant La Tertulia. Día de Muertos, celebrated on November 2, is one of Mexico's most traditional religious holidays as deceased loved ones are remembered with special altars, flowers, candles and their favorite foods.
